Thirty-seven legislators raised their voices over the draft revised Code on Criminal Procedures during the National Assembly’s plenary session in Hanoi on June 17.

Under the direction of NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, they focused discussions on the fundamental principles of criminal procedures and the rights of detainees and defendants, proposing mandatory audio and video recordings of interrogations.

In the afternoon, legislators discussed the suspension of Chau Thi Thu Nga, a NA deputy from Hanoi.

On June 18, they are due to adopt a resolution on the NA’s supervisory programme and debate a draft law on legal fees.

Later in the afternoon, a resolution on Chau Thi Thu Nga’s suspension is expected to be passed.-VNA
