Prime MinisterNguyen Tan Dung made the statement while receiving outgoing TurkishAmbassador Ates Oktem in Hanoi on May 17.
TheGovernment leader spoke highly of the Ambassador’s contributions todeveloping the Vietnam-Turkish friendship and cooperation in all fieldsduring his term of office.
He expressed his wish thatwhatever position he holds in the future, Ates Oktem will continuecontributions to fostering the two countries’ relationship, especiallyin economics, trade and investment.
For his part, theTurkish Ambassador said that during his term of office, relationsbetween Vietnam and Turkey developed strongly, with two-way tradereaching 850 million USD in 2010.
The two sides arecompleting the signing of investment encouragement and double taxationavoidance agreements, which are expected to further boost trade andinvestment between Vietnam and Turkey , he added.
On the same day, State President Nguyen Minh Triet and Deputy PrimeMinister cum Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem received the TurkishAmbassador./.
