Singapore (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on March 12 offered flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his statue in the Asian Civilizations Museum (ACM) as part of their ongoing official visit to Singapore.
The Party chief, his spouse and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contributions of beloved Uncle Ho to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, expressing their deep gratitude for his selfless sacrifice for the people and the country, and vowing to continue to strive, study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style.

The museum, located on the bank of the Singapore River, is the only museum in Asia devoted to exploring the rich artistic heritage of Asia. It focuses on the historical connections between cultures and civilisations in Asia, and between Asia and the world.
The statue of President Ho Chi Minh is placed along with the statues of many other Asian leaders and celebrities at the museum.
Aiming to show good affection for Vietnam and honour one of the great foreign figures who once visited Singapore, in May 2008, on the occasion of the 118th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 35th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore, the National Heritage Board of Singapore inaugurated a memorial plaque for President Ho Chi Minh at the Asian Civilisations Museum.
Friends who cherish Vietnam in the National Heritage Board of Singapore, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum conceived the idea of placing a statue of President Ho Chi Minh next to the memorial plaque. In September 2011, the statue was inaugurated./.
