(Photo: VNA) Hanoi(VNA) – In 45 years, the Vietnam – Australia comprehensive partnership has beenconstantly enhanced and grown rapidly across sectors, Vietnamese leaders wrotein their messages sent to their Australian counterparts in celebration of the45th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations(February 26, 1973 – 2018).
President Tran DaiQuang has sent a congratulatory message to Australian Governor-General Peter Cosgrove and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc cabled his greetingsto Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
National AssemblyChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan extended her messages of the same purpose toAustralian Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith and President ofthe Senate Scott Ryan.
Deputy PM andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh also delivered his congratulations to AustralianMinister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop.
In their messages,the Vietnamese leaders said the upcoming upgrading of bilateral relations tostrategic partnership will open up a new chapter in the history ofVietnam-Australia bilateral ties.
They stressedtheir belief that based on progress made by both sides over the past fourdecades, and increasing political trust and shared interests between the twonations, the Vietnam-Australia partnership will continue developing strongly,benefiting both peoples and contributing to peace, stability, collaboration,and development in Asia-Pacific and in the world.-VNA
