Hanoi (VMA) – Legislators discussed contentiouscontents of the draft law on the special administrative-economic units of VanDon, Bac Van Phong and Phu Quoc in the morning of May 23, the third working dayof the fifth meeting of the 14th National Assembly.

The working session was chaired by NA ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

After hearing opinions of the deputies on the draftlaw, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung made it clear someissues of their concern.

In the afternoon, Dung, on behalf of Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc, presented a proposal on the bill amending and supplementing anumber of articles of laws regarding the Planning Law.

Chairman of the NA Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanhpresented a report assessing this bill.

The legislators then discussed in groups the bill amendingand supplementing a number of articles of laws regarding the Planning Law andthe draft Law on Cultivation.

They are expected to meet for a plenary session onMay 24 to mull over the revised Law on Denunciation and the revised CompetitionLaw.-VNA
