
Hanoi (VNA) – Draft amendments to the Anti-CorruptionLaw and the Law on Physical Training and Sports are being discussed by theNational Assembly (NA) on May 31, part of the ongoing fifth session of the14th-tenure parliament.
In the morning, Inspector General of theGovernment Inspectorate Le Minh Khai, on behalf of the Prime Minister, presentsa report on revisions to the draft amended Anti-Corruption Law. A verificationreport on this bill will be later delivered by Chairwoman of the NA’s Committeeon Judicial Affairs Le Thi Nga.
The draft amended Anti-Corruption Law is said tohave absorbed opinions raised by deputies at the NA’s fourth session in late2017. Many regulations have been revised to ensure the bill is more feasibleand matches the reality and the current legal system.
Some debatable issues that still need furtherdiscussion include the cases that need asset and income verification, agenciescontrolling asset and income, and the settlement of the actual asset and incomethat are bigger than the declared.
Also on May 31, Chairman of the NA’s Committeefor Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children Phan Thanh Binh willpresent a report on revisions to a draft law amending some articles in the Lawon Physical Training and Sports. Later, legislators will have a plenarydiscussion on this draft.
In the afternoon, deputies will work in groupsto scrutinise the draft amended Anti-Corruption Law.-VNA
