Long Bien Bridge in a state of disrepair: Temporary repair cannot be the solution

But the structure inside that bridge has deteriorated more and more clearly.
Although it is more than 125 years old, every day Long Bien Bridge still has to bear a load of tens of thousands of vehicles, mainly motorbikes and trains. Recently, subsidence spots, even broken pieces, have appeared and the number is increasing.
That is the reason why large-sized steel plates for temporary repair also appear with increasing density on the bridge. But that's certainly not a long-term solution./.
