The Housing and Urban Development Company (HUD) on September 6 began construction work on a housing project targeting low-income earners in the northern province of Thai Binh.
The project on a 6,176 sq.m land lot in Thai Binh City is expected to provide nearly 200 apartments ranging from 40 to 63 sq.m each. The investor plans to sell the apartments at around 6.75 million VND (318.8 USD) per square metre.
Some of the apartments will be offered for rent at about 39,000 VND (1.84 USD) per sp.m.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tran Nam said the government has issued a range of policies on social housing with the aim of improving living conditions for the people.
The HUD is among a few companies reaping success in social housing, with many projects throughout the country, including the Tay Nam Linh Dam, Thanh Lam-Dai Thinh 2 and Giang Bien urban areas in Hanoi, the An Binh Apartments in central Khanh Hoa province’s Nha Trang City, Dong Son in central Thanh Hoa province and Hiep Phu ward new urban zone in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City./.
