Malaysia has levied anti-dumping taxes on Vietnam 's Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film, a kind of polypropylene film used for packaging processed foods, according to the Vietnam Competition Agency (VCA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The taxes, which range from 2.59 percent to 12.37 percent, were imposed by Malaysia 's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and are effective between April 23, 2013 and April 23, 2018.
Anti-dumping duties were also imposed on BOPP imports from Taiwan , Thailand , Indonesia and mainland China .

Malaysia initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imported BOPP in 2011 after San Miguel Yamamura Plastic Films complained that foreign dumping was hurting the Malaysian BOPP industry.-VNA
