The number is equivalentto 20% of the 16.1 million foreign tourists targeted this year, hetold reporters after the launch of the 2023 Islamic Tourism Month in Ipoh cityof the northwestern state of Perak on August 18.
This isproof of the successful collaboration among industry players, which is in linewith the main strategy under the National Tourism Policy 2020 - 2030. The IslamicTourism Month has great potential to be an important event for Malaysia toattract Muslim tourists from the region and beyond, the official said.
The IslamicTourism Month from August 21 to September 17 include tours of mosques acrossMalaysia and special activities for the public.
