The People's Court of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has sentenced two Malaysians to jail for using fake credit cards and passports to steal money. At a trial on Sept. 6, it handed a 30-month term to Pan Buang Seng, 24, and a 24-month sentence to Tan Yong Soon, 30.

Pan and Tan received fake credit cards and passports from compatriot Lim Wei Sin — who was living in HCM City — after they entered Vietnam through Tan Son Nhat Airport on August 24 last year.

They agreed to use them to fraudulently withdraw money in return for 10 percent of the spoils.

A day later, on August 25, they went to Vung Tau and used the counterfeit cards to withdraw 10,275 USD from their hotel's ATMs and handed over 8,000 USD to Lim.

The Ba Ria-Vung Tau police took just a day to track and arrest them./.
