Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong cut the ribbon to inaugurate a memorial site at the tomb of President Ho Chi Minh’s father, Nguyen Sinh Sac in Dong Thap province on December 2 after extensive restoration work.

He praised the Party Committee and people in the Mekong Delta province for preserving the tomb throughout the two resistance wars.

The deputy PM said he hoped that Party members, officials and the people in Dong Thap will continue to respond warmly to the campaign of President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and uphold their tradition of solidarity to create a prosperous homeland.

The site has been expanded from 6.3ha to 9 ha at a cost of 95 billion VND, of which 50 billion VND was sourced from the State budget, 25 billion VND from Dong Thap province and the remaining from HCM City.

The restoration project includes building an exhibition centre portraying Nguyen Sinh Sac’s life and cause, a memorial garden and restoring ancient Hoa An village where Nguyen Sinh Sac lived during his last years./.
