Mid-Autumn Festival celebration held for children in Malaysia

The Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association (MVFA) organised a Mid-Autumn festival for children from Vietnamese families living and working in Malaysia on September 13-15 at BB Park centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - The Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association (MVFA) organised a Mid-Autumn festival for children from Vietnamese families living and working in Malaysia on September 13-15 at BB Park centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Attending the programme, children have a chance to join many folk games and other activities, especailly learning how to make moon cakes and Dong Ho paintings.

In her opening speech, Tran Thi Chang, President of the MVFA, said that the association wishes to bring children experiences about national culture, helping them understand more and love traditional values of Vietnam.

Nguyen Ba Tan, First Secretary in charge of community affairs at the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, praised the association for organising the event, saying that it is one of many activities contributing to fostering solidarity and love for the homeland, not only for children but also for the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.

The embassy took the occasion to call on the Vietnamese community in Malaysia to join hands to support people affected by super Typhoon Yagi in the homeland./.
