Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will tightenregulations to ensure only qualified enterprises are permitted to provide guestworker services.
The ministryplans to impose stricter regulations and requirements on guest worker serviceproviders in Vietnam in order to improve the service quality and preventfrauds. They are required to consistently comply with relevant law to get theirlicenses renewed.
The ministryproposed an amendment to the Law on Vietnamese Guest Workers in which abusiness is only granted a guest worker service provision license of up to 3-5years and if it does not meet certain requirements, it will be rejected forlicense renewal.
It will alsoimpose stricter penalty on businesses in breach of the law or with poorperformance, and conduct inspections regarding the service providers’organizational structures, recruitment, fee collection, and training courses.
In addition,all labour supply contracts will need to be registered online to the Departmentof Overseas Labour from July 1 this year.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnamsets to export from 100,000 – 120,000 workers annually between 2017 and 2020, 80percent of whom will be trained labourers.
It also looks to increase the export of workers to such markets with highdemand for skilled workers as Japan, the Republic of Korea and Germany, withbetween 5,000 and 6,000 workers a year.-VNA
