Ministry to conduct wage survey at 3,400 enterprises

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) will conduct a wage survey at 3,400 enterprises with 6,800 labourers to serve as a foundation for the adjustment of the regional minimum wage in 2025.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) will conduct a wage survey at 3,400 enterprises with 6,800 labourers to serve as a foundation for the adjustment of the regional minimum wage in 2025.

The findings will also serve as a reference for businesses and labourers in salary negotiations.

The survey will look through enterprises’ wage changes after the State's latest regional minimum wage adjustments, the adjustment's impact on business costs, the level of compliance of enterprises, as well as the average wage level, overtimes, wage structure, and the lowest wage of employees in different types of enterprises in 2023 and 2024.

The enterprises to be surveyed are in 18 localities representing the eight major economic regions of the country.

The two localities with the largest number of surveyed enterprises are Hanoi with 700 firms and Ho Chi Minh City with 800.

According to the Labor Code, the minimum wage is the lowest paid to workers doing the simplest work under normal working conditions, aiming to ensure the minimum living standards of workers and their families in line with the conditions of socio-economic development. This minimum wage is established by region and announced by the Government based on the recommendations of the National Wage Council, which meets every year.

In the latest meeting, the council advised the Government to issue Decree No. 74/2024/ND-CP, which clarified an increase of 6% in the regional minimum wage compared to the 2023 level from July 1.

Specifically, the regional minimum wage currently applied ranges from 2.45 million VND (97.86 USD) to 4.96 million VND per month, according to the decree./.

Over 1.2 million students begin national high school graduation exam

Under the current examination format, candidates are required to complete the mandatory Literature and Mathematics tests, along with a combined test comprising two subjects selected from a range of options, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Technology-Industry, Technology-Agriculture, and Economics-Law. Students may also choose to take a foreign language different from the one studied at school.
