Hanoi (VNA) – More messages of condolence over the death of former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Do Muoi have been sent to leaders of the CPV, the State and people of Vietnam and the family of the deceased.

President of the Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi extended his condolences in a letter addressed to General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent a message of sympathy to the CPV, the Vietnamese people and Do Muoi’s family.

President of the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee Geetesh Sharma and General Secretary of the committee Kussum Jain also sent a message of condolences to the Government and people of Vietnam and the former Party chief’s family.

Do Muoi, who served as General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee from June 1991 to December 1997, passed away in Hanoi on October 1 at the age of 101 due to serious illness.
