Hanoi (VNA) – Over 280 Vietnamese citizens inAustralia were brought home safely aboard a Bamboo Airway flight on November25.

The passengers included children under 18, the elderly,workers with expired contracts, and others in extremely disadvantagedcircumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy and Australian competent agenciescoordinated to facilitate the citizens’ travel to airports in Sydney andMelbourne. Embassy staff also assisted them with boarding procedures.

In-flight safety and preventive measures against theCOVID-19 pandemic were rigorously enforced to protect the passengers’ healthand prevent the spread of the disease.

Upon arrival at the Can Tho international airport in the MekongDelta city of the same name, all passengers and crew members received medicalcheck-ups and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations.

The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantagedcircumstances abroad will continue to be conducted in line with their wishes,the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, and quarantine capacity inVietnam./.

At the ceremony, Vietnam handed over four boxes containing remains recovered during recent joint excavations in Hue city, and Quang Tri and Kon Tum provinces. Preliminary forensic analysis on April 15 suggested the remains may belong to US MIAs and they will be sent to Hawaii for further identification.

Second government legislation meeting reviews draft bills
