-Vietnam has for the first time surpassed India and Thailand to become thelargest rice exporter to Singapore by shipping 36.15 million SGD (26.55 millionUSD) worth of rice in the first three months of this year, an increase of80.46% over the same period in 2023, winning 32.03% of the market share,according to the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore.

-Canoeing and rowing have secured the eighth and ninth spots for Vietnamat the Paris 2024 Olympics, according to the General Department of Sports andPhysical Training under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Vietnam, Cambodia step up defence cooperation

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said his country values defence cooperation with Vietnam, pledging to support and facilitate Vietnam’s efforts to locate and repatriate the remains of the volunteer soldiers. He also expressed his support for Vietnamese defence enterprises effectively operating in Cambodia.

Brazilian President begins state visit to Vietnam

President Lula da Silva is the first foreign head of state to pay a state visit to Vietnam in 2025. This is also the second time he has visited Vietnam as the head of state, after the first time in 2008.
