Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a working session with ambassadors and staff of the Embassies of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar in Hanoi on December 24 to accelerate the realisation of high-level agreements between Vietnam and the three countries.

PM Chinh spoke highly of the ambassadors and staff's contributions to the success of his recent visits to the three countries, which have created new momentum and breakthroughs in bilateral relations. Read full story

- Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung paid a working visit to Cambodia from December 23-24.

During the trip, Trung met with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen, held a working session with Chairman of the CPP’s Commission for External Relations, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn, and met with member of the CPP Standing Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun. - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received outgoing Australian Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski in Hanoi on December 24.

- The Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) and its Chinese counterpart on December 24 conducted the fourth joint patrol in the northern waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, off the coast of Mong Cai city in the northern province of Quang Ninh and Dongxing city in China's Guangxi province.
