- The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee wrapped up its 35th session in Hanoi on July 11 after one and a half days of sitting, fulfilling its set agenda.

Closing the session, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man said the committee considered and approved three resolutions on the organisational structure of military procuracy agencies; and two others on supplements to the regular State budget expenditure estimates for 2024 of the ministries of national defence and public security, and adjustments to the mid-term public investment plans funded by the central budget in the 2021-2025 period of ministries, central agencies and localities. - Vietnamese President To Lam and Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane on July 11 reaffirmed the importance and the highest priority they give to consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

- President To Lam on July 11 visited Star Telecom (Unitel), a joint venture between Vietnam's Viettel Global JSC and Lao Asia Telecom, as part of his ongoing state visit to Laos.

The Vietnamese State leader hailed efforts and business results of Star Telecom, saying its services have covered even the most remote areas of Laos, significantly contributing to local socio-economic development over the past 15 years. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception in Hanoi on July 11 for Chinese Ambassador Xiong Bo who came to say goodbye at the end of his tenure.
