- President To Lam and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on July 11 morning for three-day state visits to Laos and Cambodia.

The visits come at the invitations of General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, and Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni. Read full story

- People and enterprises must be put at the centre of the digital transformation, and benefit from the achievements that the process has carved out, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on July 10.

- Vietnam imported 766,000 tonnes of cotton worth 1.53 billion USD in the first half of this year, representing a rise of 21.6% in volume and 9% in value over the same period last year, according to updates from the General Statistics Office.

Import prices averaged 1,995.5 USD per tonne during the reviewed period. Read full story

- Agriculture ministers of Vietnam and the Philippines have agreed to establish a rice industry alliance between the two countries and upgrade the trade relationship to an investment partnership in the rice industry.

At a talk in Hanoi on July 9, Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said that the Philippines is the largest rice export of Vietnam, accounting for 35-40 % of the country’s total exports. Read full story

- Vietnam earned 4.4 billion USD from exporting aquatic products in the first half of this year, up nearly 7% year-on-year, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has reported.

According to the association, the June export turnover topped 875 million USD, up 14% and the highest monthly figure so far this year. Read full story

- Bamboo Airways and the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) on July 10 signed a cooperation contract worth 36 million USD.

Under the contract, the IAI will provide maintenance services for six CFM56-5B engines installed on the Vietnamese carrier’s A321 aircraft in the 2024-2025 period. Read full story

- The Investigation Police Agency of the Department of Public Security of the northern province of Thai Binh on July 10 announced decisions to launch criminal proceedings against and arrested Le Thanh Van, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly (NA), for the charge of abusing position and power to influence others for personal gain in line with Article 358 of the Criminal Code.
