- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with his Korean counterpart Han Duck-soo in Seoul on July 2, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Highlighting Vietnam's crucial role in the RoK’s foreign policy, including the Indo-Pacific Strategy and the Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI), PM Han said the Southeast Asian nation is the RoK’s top partner in development cooperation, third largest trading partner, and largest investment partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). - Vietnam supports the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s major policies and stays ready to continue close coordination with the RoK for the success of both nations and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol at their meeting in Seoul on July 2.

Expressing his delight in paying his first official visit to the RoK in his capacity as the PM, the Vietnamese government leader informed President Yoon about the earlier fruitful talks with his Korean counterpart Han Duck-soo, including major directions to further deepen the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. - Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien successfully concluded a three-day working trip to France on July 2.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Chien, offered flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and visited the Museum of Living History in Montreuil during their stay. They also engaged in meetings and working sessions with key French figures, including member of the Politburo ò the French Communist Party (PCF) Taylan Coskun, head of the PCF's Committee on Foreign Affairs Vincent Boulet, President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) Thierry Beaudet, and leaders of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association (AAFV). - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung has called on the Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ) and the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) to continue supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam.

At a working session with representatives from the two in Seoul, including KBIZ Chairman Kim Ki-moon and IBK Chairman and CEO Kim Sung-tae, Dung said that the ministry hopes to strengthen cooperation with them to exchange experiences in supporting SMEs. Read full story

- Vietnam's economic growth might decelerate in the second half compared to that in the first half, with several supportive factors expected to sustain the overall growth outlook, according to the a report released by the Singaporean-based United Overseas Bank (UOB)'s Global Economics & Market Research Unit on July 2.

According to UOB experts, Vietnam’s real GDP grew by 6.93% year-on-year in Q2, continuing the momentum from the 5.87% increase in Q1 and previous quarters. Overall, the economy expanded by 6.42% in the first half, significantly outpacing the 3.84% growth logged in the same period of 2023. Read full story

- Bilateral trade between Vietnam and China is reaching the threshold of 100 billion USD in the first six months of this year.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the bilateral trade between the two countries is recovering impressively despite ongoing global economic difficulties and geopolitical conflicts. Read full story

- The Department of Construction of Hung Yen province has issued a document to Vinhomes JSC, confirming the approval for foreign organisations and individuals to own residential properties in two Vinhomes projects.

The province confirmed that the Dream City Ecological Urban Area project (Vinhomes Ocean Park 2) and the Dai An Urban Area project (Vinhomes Ocean Park 3), both developed by Vinhomes, are not located in areas requiring security and defence protection. Therefore, these projects fall within regions where foreign organisations and individuals are permitted to own residential properties./. Read full story
