- National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on July 1 visited the special national historical site of Chuong Thien Victory in Long My district as part of his working trip to the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang in commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947-2024).

At the site, the top legislator urged the provincial authorities to continue related restoration and preservation efforts, applying digital technology to management to make it a destination for revolutionary education for future generations in the province and the region. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highlighted the strong development of tourism and culture cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), calling it a bright spot of the bilateral ties, while addressing a conference in Seoul on July 1 as part of his official visit to the Northeast Asian nation.

He said following the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022, the Vietnam-RoK relationship is at its best ever, noting their political trust and good cooperation foundation in culture have given momentum to tourism collaboration and people-to-people exchange. - The Ministry of Public Security has sent three representatives to the 14th ASEANAPOL Contact Persons Meeting (ACPM), which was convened by the ASEAN Chiefs of Police (ASEANAPOL)’s Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 1.

- Vietnam Airlines has marked 30 years of direct flights between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea by welcoming its 15 millionth passenger and signing agreements with partners during the ongoing official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the East Asian nation.

Over the past three decades, the national flag carrier has run 65,000 flights, transporting 15 million passengers and 291,300 tonnes of cargo between the two nations. The airline now operates six direct routes linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with the RoK’s Seoul and Busan as well as Da Nang city and Cam Ranh city of Khanh Hoa province with Seoul, with 112 flights per week. - Private carrier Vietjet announced its new route linking the central province of Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang beach city to the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Daegu city at the Vietnam-RoK culture-tourism cooperation promotion forum held in Seoul on July 1.

- Three Vietnamese enterprises have participated in the 2024 World of Coffee 2024 festival, which was organised by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 27-29.

At this largest-ever coffee festival, which saw the participation of around 10,000 people and over 400 businesses from 130 countries, Vietnam’s Detech Coffee, Phuc Sinh, and Tuan Loc showcased their specialty Arabica coffee products from the highland regions of Son La and Lam Dong.
