-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on June 23 inspected the section of the 500kV Circuit-3 Quang Trach-Quynh Luu power transmission line project crossing the central province of Nghe An, urging efforts to accelerate its progress.
According to a report on the progress of the 500kV power line project in Nghe An as of June 21 by the provincial People’s Committee, the project spans from Quang Trach in Quang Binh province to Quynh Luu in Nghe An, with a total length of approximately 82.33km. It includes 168 pole foundations corresponding to 169 pole sections in the districts of Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, and Quynh Luu.Read full story
-Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has affirmed that Vietnam always considers the US a partner of strategic importance at a reception for visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J. Kritenbrink.
At the June 21 meeting, Son appreciated Kritenbrink’s contributions to the bilateral ties, and thanked the US Department of State for its part in advancing the relationship to the comprehensive strategic partnership and its close coordination in the organisation of the first Vietnam-US dialogue at the foreign ministerial level in Washington DC in March.Read full story
-The 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions, to take place in Dalian city, China’s Liaoning province next week, will offer an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its socio-economic achievements, and spread the message of a dynamic and innovative Vietnam, and an attractive destination for global groups, an official has said.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh told the press ahead of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s trip to China for the meeting and working sessions from June 24-27 that Chinh is among the few government heads invited by the WEF and host China to attend the event for two consecutive years.Read full story
-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s attendance at the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China’s Dailian city next week will bring opportunities for Vietnam’s economic integration, said Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai.
At an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency ahead the PM’s trip from June 24-27, the ambassador said the fact that the Vietnamese government leader has been invited to the event for two consecutive years demonstrates the appreciation of the WEF and the international business community for Vietnam’s role in and its contributions to global and regional economic development.Read full story

-The Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on June 23 held a ceremony to announce Lien Khuong airport as an international one, the first of its kind in the Central Highlands region.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Transport Minister Le Anh Tuan said that the airport’s runway, which is 3,250 metres long and 45 metres wide, can handle the Code D plane like the Airbus A300, the Boeing B757, and equivalents.Read full story

On June 20, Kampuchea Thmey Daily ran an article "Cambodia-Vietnam 57 years of good neighbours, long-standing traditional friendship", highlighting that Cambodia and Vietnam are two neighbouring countries in Indochina, in the lower Mekong River region.
