Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a list of selected news summaries reported yesterday by the Vietnam News Agency.

- The 13th Party Central Committee’s session concluded in Hanoi on November 25 with consensus reached on a number of critical issues.

Outlining major outcomes of the session, General Secretary To Lam said that the Committee agreed on understanding and determination to carry out the summarisation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW issued by the 12th Party Central Committee on October 25, 2017, regarding the continued reform and streamlining of the political system to ensure effective and efficient operations, along with a number of guidelines for Party committees and organisations as well as agencies, enabling them to give proposals on further streamlining the political system. - Party General Secretary To Lam led a discussion on the topic of "A New Era of Development - The Era of Vietnam's Rise" at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in Hanoi on November 25.

- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong and visiting Bulgarian President Rumen Radev held talks in Hanoi on November 25, at which they agreed on major orientations and specific measures to further foster cooperation and elevate relations between the two countries in the coming time.

Hailing the Bulgarian President’s visit on the threshold of the 75th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2025, Cuong affirmed Vietnam's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Bulgaria, a key partner in Central and Eastern Europe. - Vietnam and Bulgaria have issued a joint statement affirming their senior leaders' commitments to promoting cooperation in areas where both sides have strengths and needs, for the benefit of the two countries’ people and for peace, stability, and sustainable development in each region and the world.

The joint statement was issued on the occasion of the official visit to Vietnam from November 24-28 by President Rumen Radev, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Bulgaria at the invitation of State President Luong Cuong. Read full story

Vinh Phuc urged to take more drastic actions for stronger growth

Vinh Phuc's GRDP growth for 2021–2025 is projected at 7.4%, with total economic output expected to reach 190 trillion VND (7.45 billion USD) by 2025, 1.53 times higher than in 2020. Annual per capita GDP is forecast to rise to 148 million VND, while labour productivity is improving at an average of 11% per year.

National conference on provincial mergers scheduled

Currently, Vietnam has 10,035 commune-level administrative units, which will be consolidated into approximately 2,000 larger communes, each operating similarly to a small district. This restructuring is expected to begin immediately after the Party Central Committee's April meeting.

Prime Minister inspects major projects in Vinh Phuc

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh toured the Tam Dao livestock and beef processing complex project, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a social housing project in Nam Vinh Yen Urban Area, and surveyed proposed sites for urban and tourism developments as part of his working trip to the northern province of Vinh Phuc on March 16.

PM sets higher requirements for 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project

The 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line is a strategic national infrastructure project approved by the Government, with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the investor. The double-circuit transmission line will span 229.5 kilometers, with 468 tower foundations across the four northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, and Vinh Phuc. The total investment for the project is over 7.41 trillion VND (290.41 million USD).

Defence industry should become a spearhead of national industry: PM

Vietnam seeks stronger green finance cooperation with Luxembourg

The trip aims to study Luxembourg’s experience in developing an international financial centre and to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation with the local government, financial institutions, investment funds, and banks. These discussions are expected to contribute to Vietnam’s plans to establish international and regional financial centres in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
