– General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam on October 12 evening met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who is on a three-day official visit to Vietnam.
Welcoming Li’s first visit to Vietnam as the Premier of China, Lam stressed that the visit is of important significance, as it helps develop the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in a deeper and more substantive and comprehensive direction, meeting the aspirations and common interests of the two countries' people, for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. – Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang after hosting an official welcome ceremony for the latter in Hanoi on October 13 morning.
Chinh welcomed Li’s official visit to Vietnam, which is also the first by a Chinese Premier over the past 11 years. He expressed his belief that the visit would be a success, spreading the positive impact to ministries, agencies, sectors and localities of the two countries about both sides’ determination in realising the high-level perceptions and developing the bilateral relationship in a more effective, practical and comprehensive manner, thus contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world as well. - A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Luong Cuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat, is on a working visit to China from October 9-12 to realise the common perceptions reached by the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and countries in recent times.
At a meeting on October 11 with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China, Cuong said he believes that the Chinese people, under leadership of the CPC with Xi as the "core", will achieve the goals set at the 20th CPC Party Congress. – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang and Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan co-chaired a seminar in Hanoi, which sought ways bolster Vietnam-Europe labour cooperation.
In her speech, Hang said the October 11 event aims to provide an overview of Vietnam-Europe labour cooperation, pinpoint opportunities and challenges, and elevate the labour sector's role within the broader framework of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and each European partner. – The Government of Japan has announced a 2 million USD contribution to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to support Vietnam’s critical relief and early recovery efforts after Typhoon Yagi, according to the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.
Of the contribution, 1 million USD will be spent on essential water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) and child protection services provided through UNICEF Vietnam serving 21,251 people, and the other 1 million USD will go to IOM Vietnam to provide emergency shelter and non-food items support for more than 16,800 individuals in hardest hit provinces. – The 100 most valuable Vietnamese brands in 2024 were honoured at a ceremony held by Consultancy Vietnam Brand Purpose and global consultancy Brand Finance in Ho Chi Minh City on October 11.
Viettel, for the 9th consecutive year, has retained its title as the most valuable local brand with a value of 8.9 billion USD, followed by Vinamilk and VNPT, both at 2.6 billion USD. Read full story./.
