Ha Giang (VNA) - Twenty-five contestants have competed at the Tea Masters Cup Vietnam in Hoang Su Phi district, the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang province.
The contest was co-held by the Vietnam Tea Association (VTA) and Hoang Su Phi authorities on September 19 and 20 as part of the Hoang Su Phi Culture-Tourism Week 2019.
Businesswoman Nguyen Thị Bich from Hanoi is one of the contestants demonstrating her tea brewing skills.
To prepare for the contest, she has chosen shan tuyet tea and an ancient-style pot for her competition. Shan tuyet is a specialty of Ha Giang, which is picked from hundred-year-old tea trees.
The contestants have to compete in four categories of tea making, tea and snack, tea tasting and tea mixology.
Tea Masters Cup Vietnam jurors are from Ukraine, Australia, Taiwan and Vietnam.
The competition has been held annually since 2015, honouring young tea masters and popularising tea ceremonies.
