Mozambique always attaches importance to boosting friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam to develop the potential of each country, affirmed Mozambican President Armando Guebuza.

President Armando Guebuza made the affirmation while receiving a visiting delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in Maputo on July 13, headed by Truong Tan Sang, CPV Politburo member and standing member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat.

President Armando Guebuza recalled the fine impressions of his visit to Vietnam in 2007 and the visit to Mozambique by CPV General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.

He praised Vietnam ’s achievements in its national renewal process and expressed thanks for Vietnam ’s support to the Mozambican people’s revolutionary cause.

Truong Tan Sang stated that Vietnam wants to enhance relations with the State, the Liberation Front and people of Mozambique, especially in cooperation on economics, trade, investment, agriculture, health care, science and technology, oil and gas and personnel training.

The Vietnamese Party official added that these relations will be developed within the framework of their traditional friendship, comprehensive partnership, equality and mutual support for common development.

He highly appreciated Mozambique ’s efforts in maintain peace, political stability, and economic reform. He expressed his belief that the Mozambican people would gain greater achievements in national construction and development.

The Vietnamese Party delegation started its visit to Mozambique on July 12 at the invitation of the leader of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO). They will conclude their visit on July 16.

The delegation laid a wreath at the Monument to Mozambican Heroes, held talks with delegations of the FRELIMO and the Mozambican Government.

The two sides reviewed the implementation of high-level agreements between the two Parties, as well as agreements and projects signed during the past time. They agreed on a number of measures to effectively implement cooperation agreements, particularly in agriculture, health care, education, science and technology and oil and gas.

The Vietnamese delegation also visited some economic and cultural sites in Maputo and conducted fact-finding tours of agricultural cooperation projects in Mozambique./.
