Torrential rains in recent days have caused serious floods and landslides in several northwestern mountainous localities, causing heavy losses in both human life and properties.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society’s Central Committee has decided to offer urgent support to three flood-hit provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Son La with a total funding of 420 million VND (18,000 USD).
Residents in the Mekong Delta are witnessing the 2018 flood season with complicated developments. Early floods and high water level have made impacts on local residents’ production and lives.
The central province of Thanh Hoa raised a fund of more than 5 billion VND (215,000 USD) from individuals and organisations at a ceremony held on September 7 to support flood-hit locals, helping them overcome difficulties and stabilise their lives.
