Music festival raises funds for Japanese quake victims

The Vietnam Youth and Student Association (VYSA) on Nov. 6 organised a charity music festival to raise funds for Japanese victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Do Van Trung, first secretary for education of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan , was full of praise for VYSA’s voluntary activities which had been launched right after the twin disasters hit Japan , saying such deeds have left good impressions on not only the Vietnamese community but also Japanese people.

Visitors at the festival watched artistic performances staged by Vietnamese and Japanese students.

Earlier, from Oct. 7-31, VYSA launched a letter writing contest themed “Vietnam-Japan, Dream and Memories” that helped Vietnamese youth and students in Japan express their love to their homeland as well as their feelings for the country of the Rising Sun after the natural disasters./.
