Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar will relax visa requirement for Turkish businessmen intending to invest in the country and work to implement the measure has been underway.
The information was announced at a joint press conference of Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi and visiting Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu following their talks in Nay Pyi Taw on June 13.
Aung San Suu Kyi said the two sides discussed the opening of foreign representative offices and the participation of Turkey in infrastructure construction in the fields of education, health and culture in Myanmar.
The two sides called for efforts to enhance their current bilateral trade which stands at 38 million USD.
Minister Cavusoglu proposed a direct air service between the two countries and invited Suu Kyi to visit Turkey.
He also pledged to help complete procedures for the cooperation between the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) and Myanmar.
Earlier on the same day, the Turkish minister was received by Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw.-VNA
