NA Standing Committee convenes 26th session

The 26th session of the 14th National Assembly Standing Committee opened in Hanoi on August 8 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Hanoi (VNA)
– The 26th session of the14th National Assembly Standing Committee opened in Hanoi on August 8 under thechair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Ngan said during the session, full-time deputieswill give opinions on eight bills, including seven draft laws discussed at the NA’sfifth sitting. 

They are the revised draft Laws on Education,People’s Public Security Forces, Amnesty, and Anti-Corruption, the draft Law onAnimal Husbandry, the draft Law on Cultivation and the draft Law on amendments andsupplements to some articles of the Law on Higher Education.

The draft Law on Architecture will bedeliberated at the meeting for the first time.

The legislators will also comment on a draftdecree stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organisational structureof the State capital management committee at enterprises; internal adjustmentsof the State budget spending estimate allocated in 2017 to supplement for the 2018expenditure under the report of the Finance Ministry (transferred from theGeneral Department of Taxation to the General Department of Customs).

They will give opinions on the assignment ofcapital investment plans for ministries and sectors and supplementation of themiddle-term public investment plan in the 2016-2020 period.

The NA Standing Committee will consider anddecide the appointment of members of the national councils on selection ofjudges and procurators at the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

It will examine the implementation of policiesand laws on the management and use of foreign loans between 2011 and 2016. Thecommittee will also conduct a question-and-answer (Q&A) session.

The 26th session of the NA Standing Committee isscheduled to run until August 13.-VNA
