NA issues law-building programme for 2019, adjustments for 2018 plan

The 14th National Assembly (NA) has issued a resolution on the programme of building laws and ordinances in 2019 and adjustments to 2018’s programme, which was passed during the recent fifth NA session.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th National Assembly (NA) has issued aresolution on the programme of building laws and ordinances in 2019 andadjustments to 2018’s programme, which was passed during the recent fifth NAsession.

Accordingly, sixbills are added to the 2018 programme. Among them, the draft Law on People’sSecurity Forces (revised), is scheduled to be passed during the NA’s sixthsession.

Two bills’ submissiontime were adjusted, namely the Law on revisions and supplementations to anumber of articles of the Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments and the Law onrevisions and supplementations to a number of articles of the Law onenvironmental protection tax.

Meanwhile, the draftLaw on Populations, Law on Urban Development Management and Law on CommunalPolice were scrapped from the 2018 programme.

Regarding theprogramme for 2019, seven bills will be submitted to the NA for approval at theseventh session, including the Law on Public Administration and Law onPrevention and Combat of Harmful Effects of Alcohol. At this session, nineother bills will be submitted for debate.

The eighth sessionis scheduled to pass nine draft laws, including the Labour Code (revised); Lawon amendments and supplementations to a number of articles of the Land Law; Lawon amendments and supplementations to a number of articles of the InvestmentLaw and Law on Enterprises. NA deputies will also discuss three other bills.

The resolution also requires that the Government should spend adequatetime for discussion of draft laws to be submitted to the NA and NA StandingCommittee, while rolling out measures to ensure the progress and quality of thebills.-VNA
