NA Standing Committee convenes 38th session

The 12th National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 38th session in Hanoi on February 14 under the chairmanship of Party General Secretary and NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

The 12th National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 38thsession in Hanoi on February 14 under the chairmanship of Party GeneralSecretary and NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

During the six-day session, the committee will make suggestions on working reports of the 12th NA and the NA Standing Committee.

Itwill focus on preparing a review of reports by the State President, theGovernment, the Prime Minister, the Director of the People's SupremeProcuracy and Chief Judge of the People's Supreme Court during the2007-2011 period.

It is scheduled to approve supplements andamendments to a number of articles in the Ordinance on the Procuratorsof People's Procuracies and supplements and amendments to a number ofarticles included in the Ordinance on Judges and Jurors of People'sCourts.

The NA Standing Committee will put forward opinions onthe Government's supplementary report on the results of the country’ssocio-economic development and the State budgetary plans in 2010,socio-economic development and the States budget plans in early 2011 aswell as the Government’s report on the Vietnam National Oil and GasGroup’s utilisation of 3.5 trillion VND from the State budget in 2011.

It will also provide opinions on the personnel preparations for full-time deputies of the 13th NA.

TheStanding Committee will debate supplements and amendments to a numberof articles in the Civil Procedure Code, the draft law on the capitalcity, the Law on Anti-Human Trafficking and the Law on IndependentAudits.

In the morning of February 14, the committee madecomments on the reports provided by the Director of the People's SupremeProcuracy and the Chief Judge of the People's Supreme Court during theperiod 2007-2011./.
