Hanoi 3 (VNA) - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen DucHai on June 23 received Chairman of the RoK's Hyundai Motor Group Chung Eui Sun, who is accompanying President of the RoK Yoon Suk Yeol on a state visit to Vietnam.
The Vice Chairman expressed his belief that thevisit, the first to Southeast Asia by the President since he took office in May 2022, will be an important milestone, promoting the two countries' relations todevelop in a stronger, more substantive and effective way in the coming time.
He spoke highly of the successes of Hyundai MotorGroup, including investment and business in Vietnam, especially the jointventure with Thanh Cong Group and Truong Hai Group that has helped build and distribute automobiles of RoK quality in Vietnam.
Hai emphasised that the lifting of the twocountries’ relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership will create a strong foundation forbusinesses of the two countries to bolster collaboration and heighten theirrelationship.
He said Vietnam wishes to attract high-qualityinvestment capital from the RoK, especially leading enterprises such asHyundai Group, and affirmed that Vietnam has always paid attention andattached importance to improving investment environment, committing to creatingfavourable conditions for foreign enterprises to conduct long-term production andbusiness activities in the country.
Hai also suggested that Hyundai Group continue toexpand investment in Vietnam and encouraged the opening of an innovation center and an R&D center in the country, while proposing the group to sponsor the Vietnamese-RoKstudents exchange programmes, participate in training high-quality humanresources in mechatronics industry, and invest in and develop the production ofelectric vehicles and renewable energy.
For his part, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group Chung Eui Sun affirmed that thegroup’s investment activities have achieved many results in recent years thanksto enormous supports from the Vietnamese government.
He stated that through its products, the group always wants to share its experience in electric vehicle development andclean energy industry with Vietnam.
The group has a plan todevelop automotive technology and is ready to share it with partner countries, he noted./.
