Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly HoangNam will begin the new lunar calendar year with two international tournamentsin Thailand, starting next week.

The M15 Nakhon Si Thammarat events are part of the ITF WorldTennis Tour M15.

The first will be held from February 19-26 and the second fromFebruary 26 to March 3 in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The Vietnamese player, who is world No 549, is seeded fifthand sixth at the two tournaments with the draw to be conducted earlynext week.

Nam is expected to return to his highest place in top 250 in 2024.He is also on the lookout for a new foreign coach to improve his results.

Vietnam's 22-match unbeaten run draws praise from RoK media

Under the tournament format, the semifinals and final will be played over two legs. Vietnam will travel to Malaysia for the first leg on August 16 before hosting the second leg on August 19. Should Vietnam overcome Malaysia, they will meet the winner of the other semifinal between Thailand and Singapore in the final.
