According to the National Sports Administration, the 13-member team includes mostly veterans such as Tran Cong Thanh, Le Ngoc Phuoc, Tran Van Hoa and Huynh Ngoc Tien, besides Le Kim Tuan, who will practise in the central coastal city of Nha Trang before taking part in the event in Qatar.
At present, Vietnam rank 31st in the world and fourth in the Asian region.
Seventeen teams, including Bahrain, China, Iran and Iraq, as well as Japan and Malaysia, will compete in the championship.
The two finalists and the winner of the third place play-off in the championship will qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.-VNA
