The island district of Ly Son currently has over 500 offshore fishing vessels. Most of fishing grounds of the central province of Quang Ngai are in the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly), which have also been the traditional fishing grounds for Quang Ngai fishermen for hundreds of years.
