National forest inventory to begin in June

The national forest inventory project will be carried out across the country from June 1, 2013 to December 31, 2016 , according to the Office of Government.

The move aims to provide accurate,up-to-date information about the size, distribution, composition andconditions of the forests and woodlands for planning, protection anddevelopment of forests as well as land allocation.

It will also help establish a forest management database on forests and land for forest cultivation.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible forimplementing this project, said the Office of Government.-VNA

In Vietnam, a large-scale waste-to-energy facility using Japanese technology has been established in the northern province of Bac Ninh. Additionally, a Johkasou system has been installed in Ha Long Bay, the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, through Japanese non-refundable aid and support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), contributing to improved water quality, landscape conservation, and tourism development.
