The Steering Committee is also tasked with helping strengthen coordination of climate change response activities among ministries, sectors and localities, and cooperation between Vietnam and international organizations, development partners and countries.

The Steering Committee will review and fine-tune relevant mechanisms, policies, laws, strategies, plans; promote administrative reform to create a favourable environment; and attract investment in developing infrastructure to respond to climate change.

It will also direct the implementation of programmes, projects and prioritized tasks to respond to climate change, and promote energy transformation in order to fulfill Vietnam's commitments at COP26.
