The New Zealand Government will provide 500,000 NZD (412,550 USD) for the project “Livelihood Improvement for Building Resilient Communities” (LIBRE) which aims to help people in the southern province of Vinh Long improve their disaster response capability, according to New Zealand Embassy to Vietnam.
Funded by New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the international non-governmental organisation ADRA Vietnam, the project will be carried out in poor and high risk disaster areas in Vinh Long province.
Scheduled to be implemented from 2013-2017, the project will focus on assisting local people in developing sustainably agricultural livelihood and community-based disaster risk management.-VNA
