NGOs grant wheelchairs to disabled people

A Vietnamese and a US non-governmental organisations have donated 75 wheelchairs and 15 walking frames to physically disabled people in the northern province of Ninh Binh on December 27.
A Vietnamese and a US non-governmental organisations have donated 75wheelchairs and 15 walking frames to physically disabledpeople in the northern province of Ninh Binh on December 27.

The NGOs are the Sustainable Health Development Centre (VietHealth)and the US -based Latter Day Saint Charities.

Thegifts, worth over 200 million VND (9,400 USD), will facilitate thebeneficiaries’ mobility and help improve their living conditions, ViceDirector of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and SocialAffairs Nguyen Huu Tuyen said.

In the coming time, Ninh Binhwill continue to aid local disabled people and increase social allowancein order to better their community integration.

Earlier, theUS NGO teamed up with the Ninh Binh Nursing- RehabilitationHospital to grant 205 wheelchairs to people withdisabilities.

The province is home to more than 26,000 disabled people, including 8,300 who have physical disabilities.-VNA
