At an investment promotion conference held in Ho Chi Minh City on March 25, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Luu Xuan Vinh said Ninh Thuan is the first province to employ foreign consultants to design a socio-economic development master plan through 2020 and construction plans for Phan Rang-Thap Cham city and coastal areas.
The province will focus its resources on developing the four economic pillars of clean energy, tourism, agriculture-fishery-forestry, and processing & manufacturing.
To attract development investment, Secretary of the local Party Committee Nguyen Duc Thanh stated that Ninh Thuan will make every effort to improve its investment and business environment through improving the efficiency of the Economic Development Office and implementing a project to raise the provincial competitiveness index.
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai suggested the locality carry out preferential investment and trade policies to attract investors, including those from Ho Chi Minh City.
Ninh Thuan has granted investment licences to 293 projects with a total registered capital of over 95 trillion VND (4.37 billion USD) to date. Ho Chi Minh City businesses alone are running 56 projects worth 16 trillion VND (736 million USD).-VNA
