No Vietnamese affected by earthquake in Italy

The Vietnamese Embassy and Students Association in Italy said they have recorded no Vietnamese citizens affected by the powerful earthquake in the host’s central region on October 30.

Rome (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy and Students Association in Italy said they have recorded no Vietnamese citizens affected by the powerful earthquake in the host’s central region on October 30.

Italian officials confirmed no deaths in the 6.5 magnitude quake.

The epicenter of the quake was between Norcia, Preci and Castel Sant'Angelo sul Nera, and at 10km depth.

All areas in the central part of Italy were affected, even in far-away regions such as Bolzano in the north and Puglia in the south.

Rome capital was the most hardest hit with some ancient architectures such as San Benedetto and Santa Maria churches in Norcia seriously damaged.

Earlier on October 26 and 27, two earthquakes occurred in the central region, which caused panic and fear among residents.-VNA
