Hanoi (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU)’s chaptersnationwide have been carrying out a wide range of activities to mark theunion’s 90th founding anniversary and respond to the Youth Month inMarch.

In Hanoi, voluntary activities, programmes to provide free check-ups and medicinesto poor people, and sports and cultural activities have been organized alongwith the establishment of youth union organisations in enteprises andresidential areas throughout the month.

During the month, the HCMCYU chapter of the Hanoi’s businessbloc presented a charitable house worth 150 million VND (nearly 6,500 USD) to awar veteran with difficult circumstance in the locality.

Meanwhile, photo exhibitions kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City and DaLat city of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on March 21, highlightingthe 90-year development of the HCMCYU and milestonesin the youth work and movement in the localities

The same day, the youth union of the northern province of Thai Nguyen held aceremony to receive the first-class Labour Order, which recognised it’s pioneering role andcreativeness in emulation movements.

A programme to present gifts and national flags to fishermen was held in thecentral province of Quang Tri by the provincial Military Command and youthunion.

In the northern province of Yen Bai, a meeting was held to mark the 90th founding anniversary of the HCMCYU and reviewactivities of the local youth union.

Accordingly, through youth activities, 177 kilometres of rural transport roads and80km of electric line were developed, while hundreds of houses were presentedto local disadvantaged families.

Vietnam, Laos conduct joint patrol along shared border

Quang Tri and Laos’ Khammouane province agreed to strictly adhere to legal documents on border management, maintain delegation exchanges at all levels, increase cooperation in crime prevention and control, search and rescue, and run public awareness campaigns to encourage border residents to comply with border and border gate management regulations.

Over 1.2 million students begin national high school graduation exam

Under the current examination format, candidates are required to complete the mandatory Literature and Mathematics tests, along with a combined test comprising two subjects selected from a range of options, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Technology-Industry, Technology-Agriculture, and Economics-Law. Students may also choose to take a foreign language different from the one studied at school.
