Numerous events mark National Day

On September 3, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association (VHFA) held a get together to mark Vietnam’s National Day (Sept. 2) and Hungary’s National Day (August 20) in Hanoi.

Speaking at the event, VUFO Chairman Nguyen Dang Vang, highlighted the increasing development in friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries in recent years, saying that he is extremely delighted at the great achievements in many fields recorded by the peoples of both countries.

Vang said he believes that Vietnamese-Hungarian relations will become closer in the future, benefiting both countries and peoples, for regional and global peace, stability and development.

On the occasion, representatives from VHFA also gave a briefing on the association’s recent activities, which have helped strengthen mutual understanding between both countries.

Hungary ’s Ambassador to Vietnam Torda Eszter, said that she hopes the VUFO and VHFA will continue to work together to organise more activities to deepen ties between both nations further.

On September 2, Vietnam ’s Embassy to South Africa held a ceremony to celebrate National Day .

Addressing the ceremony, Vietnam ’s Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung, reviewed the achievements made by Vietnamese people during the national construction and development process, saying that the country has become an important and prestigious partner in the region and the world.

Hung praised significant contributions made by the Vietnamese community overseas to the national construction and the development of friendship between Vietnam and other countries worldwide.

Later the same day, a similar ceremony was also held in Macau, Hong Kong ( China ) by Vietnam ’s General Consulate.

Consul General, Nguyen Thi Nha, informed the participants of the homeland’s socio-economic and political situation as well as recent economic and trade ties between Vietnam and Macau .

Vietnam earned 12.46 million USD from exports to Macau in the first seven months of this year, a year on year increase of 24 percent. As of June this year, the total investment capital from Macau into Vietnam reached over 60 million USD, with 9 projects currently in operation.

Nha said she hopes that the Vietnamese community in Macau will continue to promote the country’s images in their host country.

Earlier, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela also hosted a grand flower offering to President Ho Chi Minh at his Statue in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas on September 1.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnam ’s Ambassador Ngo Tien Dung, highlighted the President’s great contributions to the national revolution and the people. He expressed his deep gratitude to the President.

Dung also called on the Vietnamese community in Venezuela to step up solidarity and cooperation in the future.-VNA
