Deputy Minister of Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Truong QuangKhanh made the remarks at a reception for visiting first Deputy Chairmanof the Russian Council of the Federation of the FederalAssembly’s Committee on Defence and Security Evgeni AlleksaadrovichSerebrenniov in Hanoi on April 2.

At the reception, Khanhemphasised the importance of the defence cooperation to thecomprehensive relations between the two sides.

For his part,Serebrenniov said the Russian council and the Vietnamese NationalAssembly will continue to work together to seek consensus on thebilateral defence cooperation.

He added that Russia willcontinue to help Vietnam train commanders and officials in the field ofscience and military technology as well as accelerate militarytechnology transfer.-VNA
