Over 200 Thua Thien-Hue students receive Vallet scholarships

The organisation Meeting Vietnam on September 25 presented Vallet scholarships to 146 pupils and 66 university students in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – The organisationMeeting Vietnam on September 25 presented Vallet scholarships to 146 pupils and66 university students in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

Each scholarship to students is worth 19 million VND (826USD) while that for pupils is 11 million VND.

The Vallet Foundation also offered an aid package of 400million VND to 14 students from the Hue University of Education for study inFrance and 260 million VND to two local libraries.

Via an online exchange, Prof. Odon Vallet, who was notpresent at the award ceremony, spoke highly of Vietnam’s fight againstCOVID-19, stressing that a number of Vietnamese alumni who used to receiveVallet scholarships are actively joining in the fight in localities nationwide.

The Vallet scholarshipshave been awarded in Vietnam since 2001. More than 42,000 Vallet scholarshipshave so far been presented to Vietnamese students with a total value of nearly250 billion VND.

In Thua Thien-Hue alone, over 4,500 scholarshipshave been granted along with scholarships for study in France and assistance tolibraries./.
