Thirty-two outstanding Vietnamese expatriates across the world have returned home to herald the 70th founding anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The expatriates were invited by the Foreign Ministry’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs as a result of their active involvement in Vietnamese community activities abroad.

During the visit to the homeland from August 27 to September 3, the overseas Vietnamese will partake in a series of events such as paying floral tributes to heroic fallen soldiers, visiting the mausoleum of late President Ho Chi Minh and the Presidential Palace and offering incense to the late President at the K9 historical site and late General Vo Nguyen Giap.

They are expected to attend a parade to celebrate 70 years of the August Revolution and National Day. The delegates will be welcomed by leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

The expatriates will then visit several historical relic sites such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi, “Huu nghi” (friendship) border gate in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son and Tran Temple in northern Nam Dinh province./.
