Hanoians will have a chance to learn more about the land and people of Palestine though a series of movies made by Palestinians to be screened at the Hanoi Cinematheque from December 4-9.

ThePalestine Embassy in Hanoi said on December 4 that the filmscreenings mark the International Day for Solidarity with thePalestinian People (November 29) and the 25 th anniversary ofVietnam-Palestine diplomatic ties (November 19).

Inaddition to movies, viewers can also see the documentary film ‘FiveBroken Cameras’, providing a truthful view of the life and feelings ofPalestinian people on occupied land.

Especially,Director Emad Burnat of the film, one of the well-renown film makers ofPalestine , will meet with Hanoi audiences following eachscreening.

‘Five Broken Cameras’ is a deeplypersonal, first-hand account of non-violent resistance in Bil'in, aWest Bank village threatened by encroaching Israeli settlements.

The film won awards at the Amsterdam International Documentary FilmFestival in 2011 and the Sundance Film Festival in 2012. It was one offive documentaries nominated for an Academy Award in 2012.-VNA

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts.
